The generated MPR series (and similar for MIP, MINIP, MPVR) allow the following interactions for advanced image viewing or manipulation:

1. Rotation

From the oblique view it is possible to rotate the projection to any arbitrary plane by selecting Rotate from the MPR menu.

Rotations are performed about a fixed external X and Y axes as represented in the figure below:

Rotation about the X-axis is performed by holding the left mouse button and moving the mouse up or down
Rotation about the Y-axis is performed by holding the left mouse button and moving the mouse left or right

For usability reasons, rotations can only performed about one axis at the time.
After performing e.g. a rotation about the X-axis, you must release and hold the left mouse button to be able to perform a rotation about the Y-axis.

2. Reference Line

In the quadrant view, a reference line is displayed on the axial, sagittal and coronal view, representing the orientation of the oblique view.
In case the oblique view is rotated, the reference lines in the other views are adjusted automatically.

From the axial, sagittal or coronal view it is possible to change the orientation of the oblique view by selecting the reference line, holding the left mouse button and moving the mouse.
Rotations are performed about the square on the reference line.

From the axial, sagittal or coronal view it is possible to change the displayed slice of the oblique view by selecting the square on the reference line, holding the left mouse button and moving the mouse.
This also allows to reposition the square on the reference line to select another center point for rotating the reference line.

3. Set Orientation

You can set the oblique view in a single step to Left, Right, Anterior, Posterior, Head or Feet by using the "Set Orientation" option from the MPR menu:
